Home Furnishings - Rosebys Loses Out
One of the leading home furnishing companies has recently gone bust. Rosebys is a well-known UK name that i never thought would be plunged into administration.
As a leading textile retailer, Rosebys had an annual turnover of £100m. Now, some 2,000 jobs at its 280 stores and its distribution centre in Selby are under threat and the future looks bleak.
If you were looking for a great place to buy home furnishings, you probably would have visited Rosebys in order to pick up a few bits. They offer quality at reasonable prices.
So why the loss?
Well, with the credit crunch hitting us all, i guess we simply can't afford to be buying any home furnishings. All materialistic possessions have had to take a back seat as many of us try and get our finances in order.
My University friend used to work at Rosebys, and she said it was a great place, working in a very busy sales office. She didn't want to leave! I suspect, however, she is glad she got out before the bad news hit, because there will no doubt be a lot of people worried about their job future now. With consumer spending at a low, home furnishings is the last thing on people's minds.
